PARTS

Terms

The rules, in plain English.

By using Parts you agree to these. We've kept them short and fair.

What Parts is

Parts is a tool for writing music — you make the choices, it helps you hear them and put them together. It's run from Lisbon by James Lumley-Savile. Right now it's in private preview: it's still being built, things will change, and now and then something will break. Use it in that spirit.

Your music is yours

Anything you write in Parts — the songs, melodies, lyrics, recordings — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it. We only store and process it to run the app for you (see the privacy notice). If you publish a share link, you're choosing to make that song viewable by anyone with the link.

Fair use

Use Parts for making music. Please don't: break the law with it, try to break or overload it, abuse the AI coach to generate things unrelated to your song, or resell access. An invite code is for you and your circle — not for posting publicly.

You're responsible for what you make and share — including not passing off someone else's copyrighted melody or lyrics as your own.

No guarantees (especially in preview)

Parts is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it good and to keep your work safe, but we can't promise it'll never lose data, never go down, or always do what you hoped. Keep your own copies of anything precious. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from using (or not being able to use) Parts.

Changes & endings

We may update these terms or the app as it grows; material changes will be noted here with a new date. You can stop using Parts and delete your account any time (log in → Settings → Delete account). We can suspend access that breaks these terms.
